I am aware of the options but have not been able to get any readings when using indoor cycle or walking on treadmill
Have you calibrated your watch? Walk for 20 minutes outside on level ground while carrying your watch and it will set your stride.
You can use Other on the indoor cycle or keep your heart rate at 75% plus of maximum heart rate on the bicycle to get a reading.
